SCHERER, (Alice) Doreen. Doreen, 84, passed away April 27, 2014 at her home in Delta with family members at her side. She was born August 23, 1929 in Vancouver to Joseph Wellesley and Sarah Elizabeth Dorman. Doreen lead a full and active life. During her long career at the CNR, she made many lifelong friends. Her leisure time was spent playing golf, cards and travelling. Her proudest accomplishment was raising her 4 children and watching them become adults, parents and grandparents.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her daughter Linda (Sanchez) Anderson. She is survived by her sons, R. Gordon Grover (Susan), Michael Grover, Steven Scherer (Kathleen), son-in-law Glenn Anderson, 8 grandchildren, and 4 great-grandchildren. A Celebration of her life will be held on June 21, at 2:00 PM at Valley View Funeral Home, 14644 72 Ave., Surrey. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her name to BC Cancer Society or The Linda Sanchez Memorial Fund at Frank Hurt Secondary
