December 11, 1931 - July 31, 2021
It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of our beloved mom, aunt and friend Irene Waage on the morning of July 31, 2021 at the age of 89.
Predeceased by her husband Bjarne of 30 yrs, sisters Ada (Phil), Marie (Garnet), Brother George (Josie) and many friends. Leaving behind son Ed, daughter Sandy, nieces, nephews and friends.
Irene was known as the "walking lady". We would always hear "Saw your mom walking". Irene enjoyed her bowling and the people she'd met. She bowled all across Canada and the US states. Also enjoyed a trip to Japan to bowl.
She did lots of volunteering. Started out on the Seymour Ski patrol where she met her husband. MS society, BC Cancer Society, BC Red Cross, YBC bowling coach, Special Olympics Coach and was on the National WIBC 500 Club Board.
Irene loved baking and her cake decorating. Lots of people benefited from that. Red Cross blood clinics(cookies), neighbours and work friends.
Per request there will be a family gathering. In lieu of flowers donations to the BCSPA or Laurel Place Hospice would be appreciated. Hugs.
