Johanna (Joyce) Adriana Silver (nee Sulkers) was born on May 27, 1926, in St. Andrews, Manitoba, the first child of Anthony and Adriana Sulkers. She was joined, in the family, by brother, David Sulkers and sister, Evelyn Howard (nee Sulkers).
In 1939 the family moved to Surrey, B.C. and lived in the Fleetwood area for many years.
Joyce was an active, charter member of Johnston Heights Church, serving in Sunday School, Pioneer Girls and Golden Agers ministries. She was also an elementary school teacher for many years, in several Surrey schools.
In 1951 Joyce married Nels Silver and they made their first home on Clow Road, now 156th Street, in Surrey. Later they moved to a lovely new home on 154A Street, and finally to a Townhouse on 104th Avenue. Nels passed away in February, 1997.
Joyce went to her eternal home on October 22, 2020, and will be missed by Sister, Evelyn Howard, Sister in Law, Georgiana Sulkers, and her beloved nieces & nephews: Mitchell (Rita), Cheryl (Otto), Richard, Lorelei (Robert), Allen (Rhonda), Joanne (Steve) and Scott (Joanne), many great nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.
