May 22, 1942 - July 27, 2018
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother Karon Pischke. She passed peacefully on July 27, 2018 at Surrey Memorial Hospital.
Mom is predeceased by our father Steve Pischke and her mother Alice Tuhkala. Mom is lovingly remembered by her 3 children Caleb Pischke (Christie), Sabrina Fairburn (Ryan) and Aaron Pischke (Amanda).
Our mom grew up in Surrey, BC alongside her younger sister, Linda. She graduated from Business College and pursued her passion for accounting and bookkeeping. She married dad in the fall of 1967 and they started their family in the town of 100 Mile House.
Mom was an active participant at her senior's residence. She was an elected member of the Resident Council and championed other groups. She enjoyed volunteering which included preparing tax returns for seniors and knitting baby blankets for young families in need. Mom had a big heart and used it well - especially with her family and close circle of friends. In moms final years she adored (above all else) being "grandma" and shamelessly spoiled her 4 grandchildren Caitlin, Aiden, Julia & Ben.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the residents and staff at Chartwell Imperial Place Retirement Residence for making moms retirement years fulfilling and joyful.
