After 100-plus years and countless life adventures, Margaret has ended her journey with us.
Born Margaret Esther McCarten in Brighton New York, the third child and only daughter of John and Agnes McCarten. At age 11 her family moved to Bow Island, Alberta, to farm her father's homestead. She had a happy childhood and often reminisced about the fun and friendships of her early years.
She met Morse Pescott and they married in 1945. They moved to the coast and began their life together in Vancouver and then Surrey, finally settling in Hazelmere. In later years Mom and Dad moved to Langley.
Margaret is predeceased by her parents, husband Morse, brothers Jack (Betty), Bud (Flo), daughter-in-law Karen, and son-in-law Barry. She is survived by son James (Susan), daughters Margaret (Gary) and Eileen, grandchildren Ashley (Michelle), Christopher (Janice), Jodi (Rob), Brent (Kathryn), Todd, Trevor (Jennifer), Laura (Keeley) and great-grandchildren Jason (Cheyenne) Ryan (Jessica), Joshua, Jake, Kenneth, Marcus, Caelynn, Weston, Jack, Ryker, Mikaela.
Margaret lived a very long life and enjoyed it in every way. She loved to have fun and especially enjoyed family gatherings. Even in her last weeks, she continued to be interested in her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, taking pleasure in the time spent with them.
In lieu of flowers please take time to visit a senior in your life, as Margaret so appreciated the many friends who visited her or connected by phone.
