McDONALD, PHYLLIS - Surrey pioneer aged 106, resident of Ivy Lodge, Surrey, BC, went to be with her Lord on December 3, 2007. A wonderful kind and generous lady coming from England as an orphan in 1913; she was always proud of her family and home, where the tea pot was lways at the ready. She is pre- deceased by her first husband Arthur Wales in 1928 and husband Raymond in 1995, daughter Jeanne and husband Bob Atlee, sons-in-law Max Moore and Jim Mantle and grandson David Moore. Survived and greatly missed by daughters Anne Moore and Helen Mantle, son John (Fran), nine grandchildren, seventeen great grandchildren and six great great grand- children. A long time Fleetwood resident, Phyllis gave generously to her community through the Fleetwood (Northwood) United Church and Surrey Memorial Hospital Auxillary, knitting hundreds of booties and lap rugs for the patients. Special thanks to Shelly and staff at Ivy Lodge whose loving and kind assistance has been much appreciated. Rev. Edith Baird will conduct the funeral service at 2:00 pm. Monday, December 10, 2007 at the Arbor Chapel of Valley View Funeral Home, 14660 72nd Avenue, Surrey, BC. No flowers by request, donations in Phyllis' memory can be made to C.K.N.W.
