Reg passed peacefully at the age of 87 at George Derby Ctr, Burnaby BC. He was the youngest son born in Winnipeg, Manitoba to the late August & Nettie Hallwas & predeceased by brothers Rudy, John, Gus, Joseph & sisters Mary & Ruth. Reg was predeceased by his wife of 55 years Sophie (2007).
He will be greatly missed by daughters Glenda Steffler (Steve) & Shelley Montgomery (Peter). Reg was proud of granddaughters Amaris Sayle (Rob) & Regis Montgomery and 3 great grandsons Hunter, Ethan, and Gunnar.
Reg was a hard worker. If you needed something fixed, cars or household projects, he was the man family and friends called upon. Reg left school at an early age to start exploring future jobs. After falling logs in Surrey & 1 season on the Princess Louise, Reg started his auto body career at Fogg Motors, in New Westminster, BC. His solid customer service & attention to detail, helped him rise to be the Shop Manager until retiring in 1983. Preparing for retirement, Reg & Sophie spent the warmer seasons maintaining & improving their Spruce Grove Mobile Home Park in Vanderhoof, BC.
Before the frosts they headed back to enjoy time with family and friends in Surrey, then went south to enjoy many winters in Arizona. Reg loved to drive which included multiple cross Canada journeys to connect with friends and family. With co-pilot Sophie they enjoyed adventures to Mexico, the USA, Ukraine, British Isles, Cuba and Grand Cayman.
Due to current restrictions, a private service for immediate family was held at First Memorial Funeral Services Fraser Heights Chapel followed by interment at Valley View Cemetery.
