In Loving Memory ~
Born in Toronto on August 2, 1953, Roger Reid passed away September 16, 2023 at Langley Memorial Hospital.
Roger grew up in Burlington and went to university at Waterloo. He spent time working at Ford, then as a jail guard at Barton Street Remand Centre and later as a salesman at NCR where he met his wife Cheryl, marrying in 1978. He would become a father of an only child, Trevor, in 1982.
In July 1981 he took an opportunity at Kodak for whom he would spend almost 30 years working— selling things like the newly developed digital cameras and later movie film in Vancouver. His work took him and his family across Canada, living in Georgetown, Ont, Surrey, BC, Newmarket Ont and Calgary before returning to the province he loved and re-settling in Surrey.
Since his retirement from Kodak he became invested in many volunteer initiatives including the Surrey RCMP Community Program, the local food bank and Surrey Museum.
He was an avid golfer, a suffering fan of the Vancouver Canucks and frequent world traveller alongside his wife. He loved his family, friends and four dogs and lived his life well.
He is survived by his wife, Cheryl, son Trevor, daughter-in-law Melissa and two grandsons Cameron and Aidan.
Donations in his name can be made to the Canadian Lung Association or the Langley Memorial Hospital.
A memorial for Roger will be held at the Cloverdale Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 6 on October 28 from 11am to 2pm .
