Eat my coal dust

My husband, who grew up in the days of coal-fuelled furnaces, replied, “I can taste it.”

On a clear day, my husband and I were on our way back to North Delta via Colebrook Road. Ahead of us was a coal train.

I said to my husband, “Look, I can see coal dust coming off that train.”

My husband, who grew up in the days of coal-fuelled furnaces, replied, “I can taste it.”

So, my advice to all of you who enjoy the privilege of dining in the beautiful outdoor areas of White Rock: If you hear and see a coal train coming, be sure to plug your ears and cover your plates.
