BC Hydro was made to be self-sustaining with profits reinvested to maintain the system to allow access to electricity to be affordable to all British Columbians.
The current Liberal government’s funnelling of profits into general revenues to pay themselves inflated wages and gold-plated pensions is a tell-tale fact the government does not care for the struggles of common British Columbians.
Shame on the Liberal government for causing the poor to get poorer by constantly making the taxpayer pay for their mistakes. This Hydro rate increase should not happen as the profits are to pay for the upgrades and not the end user.
