I have no problem with homeowners renting out a room or suite to a person or couple with limited income, however it’s obvious that the majority of these illegal suites in Surrey have multiple families living in them.
While parking and traffic problems are increasingly difficult, my biggest issue is the fact these people are not paying for any of the facilities they use in the form of taxes.
If you drive on the roads, use the parks and recreation facilities, and send kids to school without paying, how is this different from walking out of a store with merchandise without paying for it? Theft is theft.
