Surrey - The Editor, Re: "Overzealous ticketing at schools is ridiculous," the Now letters, March 4. How far is too far to walk? I am so exasperated with the number of parents who drive their kids to our community school - some only four houses away from the school.
Many of these parents are teaching their children to have a blatant disrespect for the law and for others (pedestrians).I have witnessed U-turns in the middle of the road going up onto the sidewalk where people are walking, illegal parking in clearly marked no-parking zones and school bus zones, cellphones glued to the hand.More policing is necessary and more ticket need to be issued - for the safety of all kids.Congratulations to the school and the parking enforcer who finally took a stand.Parents are the child's first teachers.Carol KozevnikovSurrey
