Surrey residents Jalen Jana and K.J. Johnson were members of a B.C. team which won the gold medal at the national flag football championships in Halifax last month.
B.C. was the dominant team in the under-16 age group, winning all six games played. In the playoff round, they defeated Nova Scotia 65-0 in a quarterfinal game, then blanked Saskatchewan 34-0 in a semifinal contest. B.C. won the gold medal game 48-12 over Alberta.
