South Surrey’s Adam Svensson lived up to his billing as the top-ranked golfer in NCAA Div. II by winning his fourth tournament of the year this week.

Svensson, a sophomore at Miami’s Barry University, shot a 10-under (69-65) 134 to win by eight strokes over Monterey Bay’s Carr Vernon at the rain-shortened St. Edward’s Invitational at the Grey Rock Golf Club in Austin, Tex.

Svensson holed eight birdies with only one bogey in the final round.

Led by Svensson, the Barry Buccaneers won the 36-hole tournament, matching a school-record 274 in the second round to beat Cal State Monterey Bay by 13 strokes.

Svensson’s four tournament wins this season is the most ever in a single-season by a Buccaneer golfer.
