There’s never a wrong time to have a clean vehicle.

With sunny skies forecast for this weekend, there’s good reason to head to Splashes where the White Rock Renegades are holding a car wash fundraiser.

Located at 103 - 3050 King George Boulevard, the fundraiser means that $1 from every car wash will go to the 2011 competitive softball team, who compete exclusively at the ‘A’ level of competition in U12 to U19 age groups.

On Saturday, the fundraiser goes from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. and on Sunday, it runs from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Funds raised will go toward equipment expenses, tournament and travel costs, and to indoor training facilities.

Team marketing manager Heather McRobbie encouraged local residents to come and help out a great group of athletes who work hard.

“People should come to support girls and sports and a long-standing White Rock softball organization,” she said.
