While addicts are people and have rights, so do all the other people in the area have the right to a neighbourhood that is clean, free of open drug dealing, with sidewalks and lit streets.

I am outraged that we can’t let our children play outside in our yards – or in a public playground – because they may get hurt by some drug addict’s used drug paraphernalia or their excrement.

As someone who lives in Whalley, letters like the one I just read in the Now-Leader misrepresent my amazing neighbourhood.

I left Surrey in 2001 because of the huge number of problems. I hate to say it but I’m going to leave again – as soon as possible. This place is even worse than when I left.

Open letter to the mayor and council of Surrey. I am heartbroken.

It's outrageous that many drivers don't use proper tires, and worse for those who have no experience driving in winter to be on road.

I love the people in our community and I look back at my time serving the residents of Surrey fondly.

Clearing residential streets is important in such a car-dependent community. But so is keeping transit riders safe and uninjured.
